Bridging Visa A Subclass 010 - Information
Who can request for it
You will have by default requested for a Bridging Visa A (subclass 010) if you filed an application for some substantive visas and:
- You are staying in Australia
- The substantive visa can be issued to you for the duration you are in Australia
- At the time you made that request, you still held a substantive visa.
You can request independently for a BVA (subclass 010) following your application for a substantive visa in Australia in case if:
- You were issued a BVA or a Bridging visa B (BVB) but this has expired and you satisfy the criteria for a new BVA
- Your existing BVA or BVB either does not permits or confine you from having a job in Australia, but you consider you have a compelling requirement of having a job. You may require to demonstrate some proof that you are in monetary adversity
- You still possess a BVA or a BVB and you request for judicial reassessment in association to a judgment to decline your substantive visa request.
How to request for BVA
When you make a request for a substantive visa in Australia, you may have by default requested for the linked BVA. The immigration office will tell you if this is the case.
If you are required to request for a BVA discretely, follow the below procedure:
- Download the Form 1005Application for a bridging visafrom the internet and forward the request form with all essential documentations at the nearestAustralian Processing Centre. You can select the processing centre that is most suitable to you.
- You and any person mentioned in your request must be in Australia when the request is forwarded and the visa is issued.
After you have made the request for BVA (subclass 010)
If you filed a legitimate online request for your substantive visa, you may be by design issued a BVA if you satisfy the criteria. You will get an automatically issued letter informing you about the issue of BVA and about any rules and regulations associated with it.
